Time Flies......

We had a most enjoyable afternoon on Sunday 26th November at the Time Flies… concert featuring our Vice President, Barry Clark, Janet Cowley and Simon Gray. Barry enthralled us with various anecdotes about his long musical career and there were songs as well as readings reflecting different aspects of his experiences over this time. There was something for everyone in the eclectic selection of music which, in addition to work by Gilbert and Sullivan, included pieces by a range of other composers such as Lerner, Coward and Lloyd Webber. The concert also featured festive items perhaps most notably a beautiful rendition of Britten's Corpus Christi Carol. I think we were all also particularly moved by Janet's reading from her adaptation of the memoirs of Jessie Bond which was accompanied by music. What a lovely start this very well attended event made to our Christmas celebrations.
