Laurence Leng Presents: Strange Adventure

As most of you will know, Laurence has delivered talks on Gilbert & Sullivan over the years. Obviously with the Covid lockdowns, these ceased so he decided to adapt one of them into an online format and, as a consequence, presented to the Society, over Zoom, “Strange Adventure”, his story on how the operas came to be written.

The presentation included musical excerpts from each of the Savoy operas and was lavishly illustrated with photos of members of the D’Oyly Carte Opera Company representing the songs that was being played.

Whilst we are unable to meet in person this means of getting together certainly keeps the Society going and active!
