Godalming Operatic Society - Patience

It was good to see so many of you at our most enjoyable afternoon of entertainment from Godalming Operatic Society (GOS) on Sunday when they presented a concert version of their recent production of Patience, a witty satire on the aesthetic movement epitomised by Oscar Wilde. We were reminded of the huge success of this opera when it was first produced and that its run, as well as box office takings, exceeded that of all G and S operas except The Mikado. It certainly proved to be a great choice for our audience on Sunday in a concert which captured the great musicality, drama and humour of Patiencewith some great performances and rousing choruses.
