“AN AFTERNOON WITH ARTHUR SULLIVAN  and W.S GILBERT"

This amazing young conductor has been thrilling audiences with his interpretation of the Gilbert and Sullivan operas, he is now with The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, this will be a very special  treat to meet this rising young star.

At the 2016 G&S Festival James was the conductor for the Sullivan Concert in St Peter’s Parish Church this included Sullivan’s chamber music and his only song cycle ‘the song of the wrens’. James played some of his piano music which included ‘Daydreams’ and ‘Allegro resoluto’. James also played Sulivan’s music at his own piano concert. Followed later the same day by at Ripon Cathedral where he conducted the ‘Golden Legend’.

James joined the Royal Opera House’s Young Artists’ programme for the 2016/7 season as conductor Répétiteur performances included Der Rosenkavalier, Madame Butterfly, Turandot and Les Enfants Terribles.
